Location

Apartament Gheso sits 32 km out from Timișoara, in Buziaș. This is out on the county plain. A car is close to essential, and the centre of Timișoara is a drive rather than a ride.

The quarter around it is covered on the Buziaș page, which sets out what it costs, how you get in and out, and what is against it.

The facilities, in detail

The supplier record lists 36 facilities. Parking appears in the listing, which matters inside the ring where metered space is short. Air conditioning is listed — worth confirming for July and August, when the city sits around 30°C. There is a kitchen or a fridge in the record, so a long stay need not eat out every night.

Facility lists in this catalogue are supplied by the property and are not checked by us. Anything that decides your booking — a lift, a cot, parking, a late arrival — is worth confirming directly before you pay.

Arriving and getting around: free car parking, parking, shuttle service.

Who it suits

A kitchen on the record makes it a sensible base for a week or more, or for anyone who would rather shop at the market than eat out every night.

Family rooms or a cot are listed, so it is set up for children rather than merely tolerating them.

Parking is on the record, which matters here: the centre is a paid-parking zone and most apartments in the old quarters have none.

A garden or a balcony is listed, worth having in the hot Banat summer.

About Buziaș, in brief

Buziaș suits a particular kind of traveller: someone who has already seen Timișoara and wants a slow, green, slightly melancholy base for two or three nights. The town is built around its park, a large, well-kept expanse of mature trees, lawns and the famous wooden colonnade — a covered promenade, roughly 500 metres long, where nineteenth-century guests took their morning and afternoon strolls. If you are here for that, for the mineral springs, or simply for the quiet, the town delivers. It is also a reasonable choice for a small conference or a family gathering, because the hotels sit within the park or on its edge, and everything is walkable.

Buziaș is about 35 km south-east of Timișoara. By train, the journey from Timișoara Nord takes roughly 50–70 minutes, with two or three services a day in each direction; the station in Buziaș is a 10–15 minute walk from the park and the main hotels. The last train back to Timișoara leaves in the early evening, so if you want a full day in the city you either go early or arrange to stay overnight there. By bus, there are more frequent services — roughly every hour or two — from Timișoara's bus station, taking about an hour; the bus stop in Buziaș is more central than the train station. Tickets are cheap, but the buses can be crowded and do not run late into the evening.

The full guide to the quarter, with what it costs and what is against it, is on the Buziaș page.

Things to know, from the quarter guide:

01 Book direct with the hotel rather than through a platform: smaller places in Buziaș often have better rates and more flexible cancellation, and some do not list all their rooms online.
02 Check whether your room has air conditioning if you are coming in July or August; many older hotels do not, and the summers can be hot and humid.
03 Ask about the spa facilities before you book: some hotels advertise spa access but the pools or treatments may be closed or only open at weekends, especially outside peak season.
04 If you are arriving by train, confirm the timetable closer to your date — services are limited and can be cancelled or replaced by buses at short notice.

Good to know before you book

Cobbles are the usual surprise in the centre: wheeled cases rattle and heels suffer. Most museums close on Monday. Terraces take cards; the markets and the bakeries prefer cash.

Coming in by tram is straightforward, but buy the ticket in the app or at the kiosk before you board — you cannot pay the driver.

Where our data comes from

This page is built from the booking catalogue, not from a visit. The name, the star rating, the address, the coordinates and the facility list are the supplier's own record for hotel 20310004; the distances are measured from those coordinates to Piața Unirii. Nobody pays to appear here and there is no commission ranking.

What we have written ourselves — the quarters, the guides, the things to do — is on the rest of the site, and it is written from the ground. This page is a catalogue entry, and says so.
