Location

Jafar Resort 8 sits 2.3 km from the centre of Timișoara, in Timișoara. You are outside the ring, so reckon on a tram or a bus into the centre; the trade is usually parking and a quieter street.

The quarter around it is covered on the Pădurea Verde page, which sets out what it costs, how you get in and out, and what is against it.

The facilities, in detail

The supplier record lists 36 facilities. Parking appears in the listing, which matters inside the ring where metered space is short. Air conditioning is listed — worth confirming for July and August, when the city sits around 30°C. There is a kitchen or a fridge in the record, so a long stay need not eat out every night.

Facility lists in this catalogue are supplied by the property and are not checked by us. Anything that decides your booking — a lift, a cot, parking, a late arrival — is worth confirming directly before you pay.

What the property offers

The supplier record lists 36 facilities. Grouped, they read like this; the wording is the catalogue's, not ours.

For families: family rooms.

For cooking and eating in: coffee, kitchen, microwave, oven, refrigerator.

For working and staying connected: desk, free wifi, internet access, wifi.

Arriving and getting around: free car parking, parking.

Accessibility: wheelchair accessible.

In the room: air conditioning, apartements, balcony, bath, bathroom, iron and board, non smoking rooms, shower, sofa bed, tv, toiletries, towels.

Also listed: market, radio, smoking area, wc, water.

Who it suits

A kitchen on the record makes it a sensible base for a week or more, or for anyone who would rather shop at the market than eat out every night.

Family rooms or a cot are listed, so it is set up for children rather than merely tolerating them.

Parking is on the record, which matters here: the centre is a paid-parking zone and most apartments in the old quarters have none.

A desk and internet access are listed, which is enough for a working trip if the room is quiet.

About Pădurea Verde, in brief

Pădurea Verde, the Green Forest, is Timișoara's north-eastern edge, where the city gives way to oak and ash. This is a quarter of two halves: the wooded expanse of the forest park itself, with the open-air Banat Village Museum and the zoo tucked inside it, and the residential strips that ring it — Calea Aradului to the west, Calea Torontalului to the north, and the newer apartment blocks along Strada Gheorghe Adam. If you are booking here, you are choosing air, space, and quiet over street life. The trade is a 25-minute walk (or a short tram ride) to the centre.

Tram 1 is the spine. It runs from the Pădurea Verde terminus (near the zoo entrance) south along Calea Aradului, past the university and the shopping centres, to Piața Libertății and then into the centre. Journey time to Piața Victoriei is 18–22 minutes, depending on traffic at the level crossings. Trams run every 8–12 minutes from about 5am to 11pm; after 11pm you are on the night bus or in a taxi. Tram 1 is also the line for the main railway station, Timișoara Nord, which is useful if you arrive by train: get off at Piața Libertății and walk five minutes.

The full guide to the quarter, with what it costs and what is against it, is on the Pădurea Verde page.

Things to know, from the quarter guide:

01 Book early for September 2026, especially the last week, when the city hosts the Timișoara Architecture Biennial; the 24 properties here fill up two months ahead.
02 Ask whether your room faces the forest or the road; the price is often the same, but the noise difference is significant, particularly on Calea Torontalului.
03 Confirm the check-in time and whether reception is staffed after 8pm. Several guesthouses here are family-run and do not have 24-hour reception; late arrivals need a lockbox code.
04 If you are arriving by tram from the station, buy a 24-hour pass at the ticket machine near the Pădurea Verde terminus; it costs about EUR 3 and covers all trams and buses in the city.

Good to know before you book

Cobbles are the usual surprise in the centre: wheeled cases rattle and heels suffer. Most museums close on Monday. Terraces take cards; the markets and the bakeries prefer cash.

Coming in by tram is straightforward, but buy the ticket in the app or at the kiosk before you board — you cannot pay the driver.

Where our data comes from

This page is built from the booking catalogue, not from a visit. The name, the star rating, the address, the coordinates and the facility list are the supplier's own record for hotel 20308998; the distances are measured from those coordinates to Piața Unirii. Nobody pays to appear here and there is no commission ranking.

What we have written ourselves — the quarters, the guides, the things to do — is on the rest of the site, and it is written from the ground. This page is a catalogue entry, and says so.
